You’re met by warm, friendly people like Dr. Brody-Sendroff, who make it their mission to get to know their patients better. That’s the atmosphere that’s been created at Bergen Optometry, and Dr. Brody-Sendroff is a big reason for it!

Dr. Brody-Sendroff has been practicing optometry for nearly 20 years, using the latest technologies and cutting-edge diagnostic tools to help her patients see better. By prescribing glasses and contact lenses and diagnosing common diseases such as diabetes and hypertension, she’s able to help change and even save the lives of her patients. She is particularly fond of treating dry eye, glaucoma and macular degeneration, amongst several other ocular conditions.

Dr. Brody-Sendroff earned her Doctorate of Optometry from Nova Southeastern University College of Optometry in Fort Lauderdale, FL. She takes pride in giving back to the optometric community and teaching the next generation of optometrists. That’s why she acts as an adjunct professor with the Pennsylvania College of Optometry and the New England College of Optometry. By taking on this role, she’s able to host students during their education career at her practice.

Dr. Brooke Goonetilleke, OD

Optometrist

Dr. Brooke Goonetilleke received her Bachelor of Science in Biology with Cum Laude Honors and Minor in Global Public Health from Quinnipiac University. She then went on to obtain her Doctorate at the State University of New York College of Optometry along with a certificate in Optometric Business Management at Empire State College.

Dr. Goonetilleke is passionate about providing exceptional primary eye care, dry eye treatment and management, as well as the diagnosis and treatment of ocular diseases. She completed part of her optometric training at the Lyons VA Medical Center where she managed hypertensive and diabetic retinopathy, wet & dry macular degeneration, cataracts and glaucomas. At the Keller Army Community Hospital in West Point and University Eye Center in NYC she continued to practice full scope eye care, which includes routine exams with contacts, medical eye exams, ocular emergencies and pediatric eye exams. During her externship at the Cornea & Laser Eye Institute she gained extensive knowledge in anterior segment disease and speciality contact lenses including scleral and orthokeratology lenses.

As she practices optometry she continues to apply herself in order to become an expert in myopia management, dry eye therapy and speciality contact lenses. She is a committed professional dedicated to helping individuals achieve the best and most comfortable vision with their overall health in mind.

Dr. Hun Keung Lee, OD

Optometrist

Dr. Hun Keung Lee recently completed her Doctor of Optometry degree at the Pennsylvania College of Optometry, where she excelled by passing all three NBEO exams and completing five diverse externship rotations. These included primary care and ocular + systemic diseases, ocular emergencies, pediatrics and binocular vision, and cornea and specialty contact lens sites. Dr. Lee’s clinical experience is extensive, managing a variety of anterior segment conditions and fitting specialty contact lenses for conditions like keratoconus and post-corneal transplants.

Her expertise extends to dry eye management, utilizing advanced treatments such as Optilight IPL, Lipiflow, Tear care, amniotic membranes, and punctual plugs. Dr. Lee has also developed a passionate interest in myopia control, aesthetic optometry, and continuing her specialization in pediatric optometry and binocular vision. Her academic background includes a Bachelor of Science in Cognitive and Behavioral Neuroscience from Villanova University.

In her free time, Dr. Lee enjoys running, which complements her dynamic and health-focused lifestyle. Her commitment to optometry is driven by a desire to provide comprehensive, patient-centered care and to continually advance in her field.

Dr. Laila Abbas, OD

Dr. Laila Abbas, OD

Optometrist

Dr. Laila Abbas is a graduate of New Jersey Institute of Technology with a B.S. in Biology and received her Doctorate from the State University of New York, College of Optometry. She completed her undergraduate and graduate studies in an accelerated track and was recognized with honors throughout her schooling. Dr. Abbas received training during her internships in primary care, ocular disease, vision therapy, and pediatrics. She is passionate about patient care and enjoys helping her patients understand how amazingly complex and important our eyes are. She has been with Bergen Optometry since 2019.

She grew up in Bergen County, New Jersey. Her hobbies include hiking, reading, and travel.

Dr. Pinksy

Dr. Shoshana Pinsky, OD

Optometrist

After Dr. Pinsky earned her Doctorate of Optometry from SUNY College of Optometry, she was now equipped to help people with their comprehensive eye care needs. She joined Bergen Optometry in 2014 as a board certified optometric physician, and has been helping people with their comprehensive eye care needs ever since!

Prior to graduating, Dr. Pinsky interned at Lyons VA Medical Center in Lyons, NH and received training throughout the course of her education. She received extensive training in primary eye care and had completed internships in ocular disease, specialty contact lens fitting and pediatric eye care. She also learned how to manage a wide variety of eye diseases and conditions.

Dr. Pinsky makes it a point to develop a relationship with her patients, treating each and every individual one as if they were her own family member. When she’s not dealing with clients at the office, you can catch her at home spending time with her husband and their four children. She also loves to read, so you might find her curled up on the couch reading a good book!
